FEMME EXOTIQUE: EVA MENDES
3:59 PM | Shots Fired From
Lieu Fatale
Strength, freedom and intellect are three words that come to mind when Eva Mendes is brought up in any conversation so when deciding upon a woman that qualifies as a Fatale it was only right to post her right on up in our banner. Although she's admired as a sex symbol she's so much more than that while choosing diverse scripts and posing for controversial ads, she's shown that she demands her respect in a classy way but will not be limited by society's vision of a "pretty woman".
The celebrity world can be so ugly. Everyone seems to have slept with everyone else and it`s some sort of strange weird cycle. I don`t want to get into that.
I know I walk a fine line between being a respected actor and being what they call a sex symbol. It's a hard one to walk if you want to be known as a real, credible actor. But I've never felt objectified. Nothing you see me do is an accident. I might act like it's an accident, but the opposite is true. I'm incredibly calculated when it comes to my career.
The trait of hers that called out to me beyond the rest was her humor. She's been under fire for being a single woman (and loving it), posing nude, being the mistress, wife and villian in several films but she still doesn't let that define her because no matter what you want to see or how the game is given to you, ALL of those types of women exist. She brushes it off and carries on while making jokes of her critics. Personally, I feel like she gets alot of negativity thrown her way because she's beautiful inside and out without being bitchy. I think of it as a talent. She's not a Hollywood jump off but she's exploring her options, no children to date and has a successful career. She's damn near teflon! A free woman is the most dangerous of them all and she maintains her mystique? Love it! Not only is she a beauty but she doesn't down play her light nor turn the heat up in an over the top "are you done?" manner when she mentions her insecurities growing up:
I have the hugest . . . overbite. It's so big, my older brothers and sisters used to call me "Bugs". I looked like a bottle opener. But I've never fixed my bite because it's one of the things that makes me me. I used to get teased about the mole on my left cheek. In junior high the other kids would say, "You've got some chocolate on your face", and I fell for it every time. I said, "The minute I turn 18 I'm going to get that mole removed!" But I'm happy I didn't. My best feature is my big hips. I've got some nice childbearing hips, and I feel very proud of them. When I was younger I thought they were too big. I wanted to be slimmer. But now I totally embrace them.

Although I thoroughly appreciate your well written feature on Miss Mendez, all I can do is stare at this gorgeous woman. Hell, I'm doing it right now...
MendeS Lu MendeS. Yes she is gorgeos but has so much more to offer in a "proper" way.
Lady of her League.
